His work has created a legacy of progress in rehabilitation education, service, and research.

Robert L. Moody (born July 28, 1935) is a 1953 graduate of Valley Forge Military Academy. At age 17, Robert started working for the Trust Department of Moody National Bank where he learned about trusts, estates and oil royalties. Robert attended the University of Houston for one year before entering the U. S. Army. He was based in El Paso, Texas, from 1954 - 1956 and upon leaving the army he returned to his native Galveston to launch a career in insurance, banking, real estate investments.

Opened in 1982, the Transitional Learning Community is a residential treatment facility where persons who have suffered closed-head injuries are assisted in making the transition from traditional therapy programs to a more permanent and productive place in society.
